Armani Casa

The owner of this Armani Casa residence in Sunny Isles Beach collects contemporary art and wanted a home that works as a backdrop for the collection while staying comfortable for a family with children. Neutral Venetian plaster gives the walls soft depth without competing with the large canvases. We selected the pieces with the client at a gallery, then planned the hanging so each work has room to breathe.

Blue runs through the home: velvet dining chairs on slim brass frames, a deep blue rug in the bedroom, teal accents that echo the ocean. The master bedroom is built around an oversized backlit headboard wall by Shake, in fluted black panels, beige suede, teal velvet and a brushed brass inlay. A fluted walnut media console warms the cool palette, and the den, with a built-in Murphy bed, doubles as a guest room and a place for the kids to play.

The plan is full of angles, corners and curved ceiling lines, so the central task was placing furniture that keeps the ocean views open and the walls free for art. The tower had no service elevator, and every delivery was booked about a month ahead. The project took five months and was completed in 2021.
